There are lots of threads on this, I suggest you look at this one:

Only thing I have to say right now is use all 8 skills, and drop Resurrect.

ROFL.
And mend condition.
Get yourself Shielding Hands while you're at it. Guardian since Aegis no longer seems to affect the Ghostly Hero.

In general, divine boon is a bad idea for a prot monk. It provides nice healing when you're spamming RoF and guardian, but it's hell on your energy management, even with e-drain.
Leave healing to the healers. You should make sure you always have enough energy to provide those key spells like prot spirit, aegis and mend.

I wouldn't say that it's a bad idea for a prot monk... you just need to know how to manage your energy. I'd probably drop Aegis on that build and throw channeling in. You can also consider swapping prot spirit out for signet of devotion, and arrange for someone else to bring it.

Since when? Can anyone else confirm this?
I'm probably going to sound like a broken record, but I still don't think too highly of guardian, especially if you're running Aegis already.
You also have 3 spam heals: Reversal, Mend, and Guardian. 4 if you include boon as a self heal (which you should). My problem with Guardian is that it does nothing against elementalist and smiting damage, and essentially becomes a wasted skill on your bar. Sure it can be really effective vs ranger and warrior teams, but Aegis is already covering you there. If you can't bring Aegis for whatever reason you could try running guardian instead, but in a case of either/or I'd stick with Aegis.
Secondly, you need to increase your Divine Favor attribute if you're running Divine Boon. Someone created a thread the other day claiming boon was bad for your energy- but he was running it at 10 DF, I run it at 16DF and it heals the amount of a full Orison any time I cast a monk spell at the cost of 2 energy. A more in-depth numerical analysis might be useful, but I can tell you without looking at any numbers that running boon at ~10 DF is not taking full advantage of it.
Aside from that it's remarkably similar to my standard prot booner.

Fairly extensive playing and observing yesterday (I was the Prot Monk), confirms that Aegis stopped affecting the Ghostly Hero.

That's bad news for Aegis, but maybe it was a necessary balance tweak. It's a solid spell before acting as chaff, and enchantment stacking is certainly a known problem. I didn't spend any time in Tombs this weekend as a monk, but it's good to know before going back.
Any idea what the "rule" is on Aegis now? My impression from what's being said is that it will only work on the 8 people in the original party window.

I'm pretty sure Aegis works like you mentioned, affecting the 8 party members.
I recall one time when my group was in the Vault and everyone ran off, when our Prot casted Aegis I think it affected everyone. A few other times on Relic Runs I remember being able to shield our runner on the opposite side of the map with Aegis.
I have no clue about Pets, Fiends, etc., though I don't really care.

I'm still a big fan of Guardian, regardless. If you run into a team with warriors, or rangers, and have a fairly high spec in protection, you're good to go. But I will agree with Adam that it becomes fairly useless against any other type of damage.
